Shine Studios Terms, Conditions and Contract Agreement

Shine Studios Limited is committed to safeguarding the well being of its pupils. Every individual in the school should, at all times, show respect and understanding for their rights, safety and welfare, and conduct themselves in a way that reflects the ethos of the school and the guidelines contained in its code of conduct for freelance teachers and volunteers. 

  • Students are required to have the correct uniform and shoes required for the class within 4 weeks of enrolment and to wear hair in a bun for Ballet, plaits for other classes with fringes off the face. In line with health and safety if you do not have correct attire or hair you may be asked to sit and watch the class. Outdoor shoes and socks are not permitted. 
  • Jewellery should not be worn during class, earrings may be covered with plasters if they cannot be removed. 
  • Children should arrive promptly and attend classes regularly. 
  • You agree that we may give first aid as required including the use of wipes or plasters unless notified otherwise. 
  • No food in class, only drinking water. 
  • Shine Studios Limited are unable to accept responsibility for your child until the class starts. Our responsibility starts at the start of class time and ceases at the end of the lesson time. We take no responsibility for injury to individuals or loss or damage to property on the school site. Individuals are not permitted to walk around or play on the school site including the car park or tennis courts. 
  • Emailed or written consent must been given for a child to walk home alone. 
  • You agree to not send your child to class if they are suffering from gastrointestinal symptoms and for 48 hours thereafter. 
  • You agree to strictly adhere to governmental guidance on Covid-19 applicable at the time. 
  • You accept that fees will continue to be charged at their normal rate in the event that Covid-19 or other restrictions cause classes to be delivered online and this agreement in its entirety is applicable in the event that Covid-19 restrictions or other guidance means that Shine Studios cannot hold classes in the studio in person. In this instance an alternative will be offered online and class times, duration and teaching staff may vary. 
  • Please do not bring valuables into class or onto the premises. Shine Studios Limited does not accept responsibility for items lost, stolen or damaged. Anything we do find will be placed in lost property and disposed of at the end of each term if not collected. 
  • Please line up at the top door, sanitise hands upon entry and exit via the lower door. 
  • Please respect and follow parking guidelines for the site. No animals allowed on site. Wait for the gate to open fully before entering and exiting and under no circumstances give a gate code to your child or third parties. 
  • You must inform us of changes in contact information, address, telephone, email or medical conditions. 
  • Any medication that may be required must be brought to class including epipens and inhalers. 
  • We will not tolerate rudeness to staff, bullying, racism, threatening or anti-social behaviour. Parents, students or families will be asked to leave the class without notice, depending on severity maybe permanently, without refund. 
  • Trophies must be returned when requested. 
  • All members of staff are subject to full DBS checks. Physical contact by teaching staff may be necessary when helping to demonstrate or correct students, to safeguard a child from 
  • Hurting themselves or others or to assist with the toilet and you give permission for this in these circumstances. 
  • As part of training, pre-registered or student teachers will sometimes take part of the lesson, teaching assistants may also help with the teacher’s instruction and guidance.   
  • You are accepting dance is a physical activity and agree to indemnify Shine Studios to any injury that may occur during class or on the school site. 
  • All students participate in our annual show and you agree to represent the school up to and including the final performance.  
  • On occasions we may wish to photograph or film students for publicity or training purposes. These photographs may be placed in local papers, leaflets, social media or on our website as well as other forms of paper, electronic or social media. By joining classes you agree for ongoing permission which continues after your child ceases classes until redacted in writing. If you do not wish your child to be included please advise us in writing or advise when registering your child. 
  • Timetables maybe changed at the discretion of the principals. We will endeavor to give as much notice as possible and will make up or credit any cancelled classes. Refunds will not be given. Shine Studios reserve the right to change staff teaching classes and class times without notice. 
  • No classes will be held on Bank Holidays unless notice is given in advance. 
  • Lessons will be invoiced per term in advance with payments taken by Go Cardless. In the event of late payment an administration charge of 10% will apply, any discounts or payment arrangements will be revoked and tuition not offered until settled in full. 
  • You have entered into an on-going contract, if you wish to withdraw from any class then 6 weeks’ notice must be given in writing via email to Miss Katie or Miss Emma. Fees remain payable in cases of absence, Covid-19 or other restrictions meaning that classes are delivered online, and there are no reductions for sickness, isolation or holidays.  
  • All communication regarding classes and payments must be via email to info@shinestudios.co.uk as staff are unable to respond via personal mobile phones. 
  • All payments are taken by Go Cardless.   
  • Special promotions will only be available periodically and are subject to change without notice. 
  • We endeavour to be as environmentally friendly as possible; we will email letters, information, invoices and newsletters. Please check email and keep up to date via our Facebook page and notice board. 
  • All concerns or questions are to be directed via email to the principals not teachers as to not interrupt class time. Best endeavours will be made to respond within 2 working days. 
  • In order to register a child with Shine Studios Limited you are deemed to have accepted our terms and conditions above, this is an ongoing agreement without end and fees are still liable to be paid in full in all circumstances. 
  • By agreeing electronically with or not objecting within 30 days with our terms and conditions you are deemed to have accepted our terms and conditions above, this is an ongoing agreement without end and fees are still liable to be paid in full in all circumstances.
